Why I Started Redlark: My Story as a VC-Backed Founder Building a Tool for Myself Because I'm Technical and Just Really Hate Wasting Time Scrolling Through My Feed or Finding the Time to Interrupt My Workflow — But Also Knowing It's Really Necessary

Here's something I didn't expect: I actually searched for a tool that could just text me my social media post ideas—and let me text back to post or tweak them. It seemed so simple in theory. I was shocked to find nothing like that existed.

You'd think in 2025, with all the AI and automation hype, someone would have cracked the code for making posting as easy as texting a friend. But nope. Nothing straightforward, nothing frictionless.

Later, I realized it was a bit more of an engineering challenge than I first thought. There's the whole mess of integrating with constantly changing social media APIs, shifting platform policies, the headache of SMS message rates, plus the desire to connect with other messaging apps like Slack or Teams. It quickly became clear that building something seamless and reliable wasn't just a matter of flipping a switch.

But I digress.

The truth is, I built Redlark because I was trapped in the same cycle that drives so many busy people crazy: you know social media is necessary for your business or personal brand, but actually finding the time and mental space to post consistently without falling into the endless scroll? Nearly impossible.

I'm technical and data-driven—I understand AI's potential to help. But I hate wasting hours lost in feeds, so I needed a better way to keep up without letting social media interrupt my work or bleed my focus.

So I built a system that watches the feeds that matter in your niche, figures out what's trending, then sends you distilled post ideas via simple text. You just reply back naturally—approve it, tweak it a bit, or skip. No complicated dashboards, no endless notifications. Just quick, human-friendly prompts that fit into your day, not take over your life.

Being a founder backed by VCs means every minute counts. Social media is critical to build presence but also a massive time sink. Redlark is my answer to that tension: it's not about removing human judgment, but about amplifying it with minimal friction.

That frustration turned into a product that I believe can help thousands of busy creators, solopreneurs, and founders who hate wasting time scrolling but know they can't afford to be invisible online.
